At Colours, Inc., we are committed to staying at the forefront of the automotive paint and collision repair industry. That’s why our team actively participates in industry-leading commitees like I-CAR (Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair). At their recently held national conference in Houston, Texas, one of our Business Development Managers (BDMs) had the opportunity to engage with top professionals, educators, and innovators in collision repair training.

With being a part of the local I-CAR committee in Harrisburg, Ryan Lightner, Business Development Manager, received an invitation for both the industry sessions as well as instructor and volunteer sessions. The conference consists of a variety of industry intelligence from CCC, I-CAR, The CREF Foundation and several motivational speakers.

Who is I-CAR?

I-CAR is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing technical education in the collision repair industry. Their mission is to equip technicians and industry professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to perform high-quality, safe, and efficient repairs. Through hands-on training and cutting-edge certifications, I-CAR ensures that businesses like ours—and the repair shops we serve—can stay ahead of evolving vehicle technology.

Why Partnering with I-CAR Matters

As an automotive paint distributor, we recognize that the success of collision repair shops depends on access to proper training, up-to-date techniques, and high-performance products. Our partnership with I-CAR helps ensure that our customers receive expert guidance on paint application, refinishing techniques, and best practices that align with industry standards. By supporting I-CAR’s training initiatives, we strengthen our role as a trusted resource for body shops striving for excellence.

Celebrating Our Employees’ Achievements

As a member of the I-CAR committee, Lightner attended this event alongside fellow committee member and Committee Chair, April Lausch, who serves as the body shop manager at Faulkner BMW Collision in Lancaster, PA. Under April’s leadership, the committee successfully achieved Gold status for four consecutive years, which is awarded upon completing all required goals for the year. As a result of consistently meeting this milestone, the committee received the prestigious Platinum Committee award this year. Additionally, they were honored with the Bowling Pin award from CREF (Collision Repair Education Foundation) for raising over $50,000 within the year.

“I feel that being part of the I-CAR committee and attending the conference has allowed me to bring extra value to our customers and prospects,” says Lightner. “It allows me to network with other Collision industry professionals.”

Looking Ahead

Attending the I-CAR Conference reinforced our commitment to helping body shops thrive in an ever-changing industry. We’re excited to bring back valuable insights, strengthen our collaboration with I-CAR, and continue providing our customers with the highest level of support.

Stay tuned for more updates as we keep driving the industry forward!
